Corporate social responsibility(CSR) is becoming increasingly important in the field of corporate sustainability. However, despite the growing literature on CSR, there is a paucity of empirical evidence examining external environmental pressures. This paper aims to fill this gap by exploring the relationship between CSR and green exploratory innovation from the perspective of three types of environmental regulations: mandatory, market-driven, and voluntary regulations. Using Chinese-listed companies from 2010 to 2019 as original data, we examined the impacts of CSR on green exploratory innovation of firms and the moderating effects of the three regulations using a moderating effect model. The results concluded that CSR could significantly stimulate firms to engage in green exploratory innovation. Mandatory and market-driven regulations exhibited positive moderating effects, and market-driven regulations have a greater impact on CSR strategies. In contrast, voluntary regulations showed a negative moderating effect. Our study will be of great value to companies under external environmental pressure and will provide a new path to achieve sustainable development.
Unlocking the ESG value of sustainable investments in cryptocurrency: a bibliometric review of research trends

The advent of cryptocurrencies has provided both possibilities and problems in the sphere of long-term investing. As environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations acquire significance in the investing landscape, examining research trends and developments in unlocking the ESG value of sustainable investments in cryptocurrencies is critical. This work uses bibliometric analysis, a quantitative review approach, to comprehensively examine the scientific research outputs on this subject. The data for the analysis was gathered from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) database and then analyzed with the VOSviewer program. Only 59 of 784 keywords matched the preset threshold and were included in the study out of 1501 articles. The findings demonstrate the great attention paid by academics to subjects related to the ESG value of sustainable investment in cryptocurrencies between 2019 and 2022, with these topics addressed in 1133 articles and a total link strength of 1045. Furthermore, one notable study subject, with 302 citations from 2015 to 2023, is active ownership in the context of long-term cryptocurrency investments. This study issue has piqued the interest of many academics and has had a significant impact in the area.

On the role of intelligence and business wargaming in developing foresight

Business wargaming is a central tool for developing sustaining strategies. It transfers the benefits of traditional wargaming to the business environment. However, building wargames that support the process of decision-making for strategy require respective intelligence. This paper investigates the role of intelligence in the process of developing strategic foresight. The focus is on how intelligence is developed and how it relates to business wargaming. The so-called intelligence cycle is the basis and reference of our investigation. The conceptual part of the paper combines the theoretical background from military, business as well as serious gaming. To elaborate on some of the lessons learned, we examine specific business wargames both drawn from literature and conducted by us at the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies (CISS). It is shown that business wargaming can significantly contribute to competitive intelligence (CI) by identifying missing information and by transforming data into actionable intelligence. Furthermore, it bridges the gap from CI to a strategy by either testing or developing a new strategy.

Does the annual reports risk information disclosure enhance corporate innovation? Evidence from China

Given the substantial relevance of corporate innovation, it is essential to investigate the impact of annual report risk information disclosure on corporate innovation. This study empirically explores the effect of annual report risk information disclosure on the extent of corporate innovation, utilising data from publicly listed companies in China from 2013 to 2023. The findings indicate that annual report risk disclosure significantly enhances corporate innovation. Mediation analysis reveals that availability of credit resources and managerial myopia mediate the relationship between annual report risk disclosure and corporate innovation. Additionally, moderating effect analysis shows that the institutional environment positively influences the relationship between annual report risk disclosure and corporate innovation. Notably, the favourable correlation between annual report risk disclosure and corporate innovation is particularly significant in non-state-owned enterprises and among firms with high levels of ESG tone consistency. Therefore, policy-making agencies should prioritise promoting enterprise innovation through the dissemination of annual report risk information and enhance support mechanisms for enterprise risk information disclosure.
